Majarete Sound Machine is a Venezuelan band known for blending funk, disco, acid jazz, and Latin rhythms, revitalizing danceable sounds from the 1970s and 2000s. Originally featuring Vera Linares (vocals), Leonardo Leoni (keyboards), Rainer Díaz (guitar), Alberto Herrera (bass), Eloy Dávila (drums), and Marcel Dávila (percussion), they gained attention through energetic live shows at venues like Centro Cultural Corp Banca and festivals such as Diablitos Experience. Their 2010 album included the single "Afrodísiaco," released alongside performances alongside acts like Trabuco Contrapunto and Viniloversus. After a multi-year hiatus, they returned in 2025 under the shortened name "Majarete," signaling a new chapter while maintaining their signature fusion-driven approach. A standout moment includes their remix collaboration with DJ MANgo on Aldemaro Romero’s classic "De Repente".
