Tidalwave Road Bluegrass Band

Tidalwave Road Bluegrass Band is a Kentucky-based group known for their energetic and heartfelt bluegrass music. Formed in 2012, the band consists of Ben Parker on banjo, Carlie Parker on mandolin, Daniel Parker on bass, and Robert Sulfridge on guitar. They hail from Williamsburg, Kentucky, an area rich in musical heritage. The band gained significant attention after winning the 2023 SamJam Festival Band Competition, which led to a recording deal with Pinecastle Records. Their recent releases include "The Bonfire Sessions," "Not Ok, My Brother," "Low Down & Lonesome," and their full-length debut album "Skin and Bone." Tidalwave Road's music is deeply rooted in Appalachian traditions while maintaining a contemporary edge.

The band's blend of talent and family ties—Carlie and Daniel Parker are twin brothers, and Ben Parker is their older cousin—has contributed to their distinctive sound. Robert Sulfridge, who joined the band in 2018, brings a complementary style to their performances. Despite their success in the music world, the members of Tidalwave Road maintain full-time jobs outside of music, showcasing their dedication both to their craft and their community. Their music often reflects the raw energy and storytelling typical of bluegrass, with compositions like "Black Smoke Annie" and covers such as "Sweet Child O' Mine" showcasing their versatility.
