Get Low Playaz

The Get Low Playaz is a hip-hop group deeply rooted in the fabric of West Coast rap, particularly the vibrant scene that emerged from San Francisco’s Fillmore District, also known as 'Fillmoe.' Formed in the early 1990s, the group became one of the flagbearers of the independent Bay Area music hustle, gaining considerable street cred with their raw lyrics, signature Bay Area beats, and genuine portrayal of life in their neighborhood. The members, most notably JT the Bigga Figga, who is considered one of the founding figures of the independent movement within the Bay Area rap community, D-Moe, San Quinn, Seff tha Gaffla, and Big Rich, among others, provided a voice to the Fillmoe streets, often collaborating with up-and-coming talents and established artists alike to expand the influence of their gritty urban narratives.

Over the years, the Get Low Playaz have marked their territory with a series of releases that showcase not only evolution in sound but also a steadfast commitment to the culture and community that shaped them. Their recent projects like "In The Streets of Fillmoe" and "The Family Business" continue to detail the trials and tribulations of street life, while albums such as "The Package," "What We Known Fo," and "Straight Out the Labb" stick to the authenticity that fans have come to expect from the group. Together, these works encapsulate the essence of the Get Low Playaz, a collective that doesn't just make music but curates the soundtrack to a life and a district that forged their artistic identity.
