Astharoth is a Polish thrash metal band formed in 1988 in Bielsko-Biała. The original lineup included Jarek Tatarek on vocals and lead guitar, Dorota Homme on guitar, Witold Wirth on bass, and Dariusz Małysiak on drums. Early in their career, Astharoth won the Metal Battle in 1989 at Spodek Arena in Katowice, which earned them a spot at the Metalmania festival. They released their first album, "Gloomy Experiments," in Finland and Italy. After moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, they recorded several demos before disbanding in 1994.
Astharoth has experienced a resurgence, releasing new music in recent years. Their recent releases include "Age of the Apocalypse," "Cosmos and Chaos," "Between Death & Rebirth," "Behind the Mask of Virtue," and "Resurrection: Beginning of the End." The band is active and continues to contribute to the metal scene with their distinctive sound.
