CNCO is a Latino boy band that has captured the hearts of audiences worldwide with their infectious blend of Latin pop, reggaeton, and bachata influences. The group was formed in 2015 on the reality singing competition "La Banda," which was created by Simon Cowell and produced by Ricky Martin, among others. The band's name, pronounced "C-N-C-O," stands for the five countries represented by its original members: Christopher Vélez from Ecuador, Richard Camacho from the Dominican Republic, Joel Pimentel from Mexico, Erick Brian Colón from Cuba, and Zabdiel De Jesús from Puerto Rico.
After their victory on "La Banda," CNCO quickly rose to fame with their debut single "Tan Fácil" and their first album, "Primera Cita," released in 2016, which became a commercial success and solidified their status as a promising new act in the Latin music scene. Their energetic performances, catchy tunes, and charismatic presence have allowed them to attract a massive fan base, often referred to as CNCOwners. Over the years, CNCO has released several hit tracks, winning multiple awards and collaborating with a range of prominent artists. They made waves with their modern rendition of "Reggaetón Lento (Bailemos)" and continued to charm audiences with more recent releases such as "Borrachita" and "Para siempre," showcasing their ability to evolve with the industry while maintaining their signature sound. Despite undergoing lineup changes, with the departure of Joel Pimentel in 2021, the band continues to shine as a quartet and remains a significant force in the world of Latin pop music.
