Chaim-Dovid Saracik, professionally known as Chaim Dovid, is an Orthodox Jewish musician from South Africa. He began playing guitar at the age of 11 and later served in the South African military. In the 1970s, he spent time in Israel and Europe, eventually meeting Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, a pivotal figure in his musical journey. This encounter led him to become deeply involved in Jewish music, particularly in the style of Rabbi Carlebach. Chaim Dovid has produced over ten albums, including "Ohr Chadash," "Open Up Your Gates," "Grateful and Alive from the Carlebach Shul," and more recently, "עבדים היינו Avadim Hayinu." His music is characterized by its spiritual depth and connection to Jewish heritage.
