Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra

The Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra (TSO) is a renowned musical ensemble founded in 1993 by Djansug Kakhidze, a celebrated Georgian conductor often referred to as the “Georgian Karajan” due to his influential role in shaping Georgia's modern classical music scene. Since 2002, the orchestra has been under the artistic direction of Vakhtang Kakhidze, Djansug's son, who is also a conductor and composer. The orchestra is known for its diverse repertoire, encompassing works by classical, romantic, and 20th-century composers. It has collaborated with world-class artists and has performed in prestigious concert halls across Europe and beyond.

The TSO's performances are characterized by their high artistic standards, which have led to numerous international concert tours in countries such as France, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, and more. The orchestra has also been recognized for its collaborative projects, including a Grammy nomination for the album “My Heart Speaks”. The TSO continues to be a significant cultural ambassador for Georgian music, both domestically and internationally.
