Kroh

Kroh is a hauntingly atmospheric UK-based project that emerged in the mid-2010s, blending doom-laden riffs with darkwave textures. Fronted by the enigmatic Oliwia Sobieszek (aka Paul Kenney), the band crafts brooding soundscapes that feel equally at home in gloomy basement clubs and misty forest rituals. Their 2016 debut *Altars* established their signature mix of crushing low-end and ethereal vocals, while 2018's *Pyres* expanded their palette with industrial undertones. The compilation *Altars/Pyres 2011-2018* serves as a perfect entry point to their shadowy world of ritualistic rhythms and cathedral-sized distortion. Though deliberately mysterious about their personal histories, Kroh's occult-tinged performances and vinyl releases have earned them a dedicated following in the international doom/drone underground.
