The Kids

The Kids are a Belgian punk rock band that first exploded onto the scene in the late 1970s. Formed in Antwerp in 1976, they quickly gained notoriety for their raw energy, politically charged lyrics, and no-nonsense approach to punk. The group's classic lineup featured brothers Ludo and Eddy Marien, singer Ludo Mariman on vocals and guitar, Danny de Haes on bass, and Luc van de Poel on drums. Inspired by the first wave of punk icons like The Ramones and The Sex Pistols, The Kids carved out a name for themselves in the European punk underground.

Their debut self-titled album and follow-up, Naughty Kids, were both released in 1978 and are considered seminal records in the Belgian punk scene. The band's sound is characterized by fast tempos, tight riffs, and defiant, often sarcastic lyrics. Though their early heyday was relatively short-lived, The Kids have enjoyed a cult following and have reunited for select shows and tours over the years, continuing to deliver their old-school punk attitude to new generations of fans.
