Alexander Gavrylyuk

Alexander Gavrylyuk is a Ukrainian-born pianist, renowned for his extraordinary technical prowess and deeply expressive interpretations. Born on 29th April 1984 in Kharkiv, Ukraine, Gavrylyuk showed musical promise from an early age. At the age of seven, he began his piano studies at the Kharkiv Conservatory, and by 13, his talent was recognized with the First Prize at the International Horowitz Competition for Young Pianists in Kiev. His career was further catapulted by triumphs at the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition in Japan in 2000 and the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition in Tel Aviv in 2005.

Gavrylyuk's performances combine intense emotional engagement with a formidable technique, capturing audiences across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. His repertoire spans a vast range of classical and romantic works, with a particular affinity for Russian composers, as evidenced by his recordings, including the critically acclaimed "Prokofiev: The War Sonatas" and interpretations of Rachmaninoff and Scriabin. Gavrylyuk is not only celebrated for his solo recitals but also as a distinguished concerto soloist, which is showcased in his recordings of Prokofiev’s Piano Concertos. His live recitals, which are often events of a transcendent nature, along with his passionate recordings, have sealed his reputation as one of the foremost pianists of his generation.
