Seventh Star

Seventh Star is a Christian hardcore and metalcore band hailing from Ocala, Florida, formed in 1998 by Mike Whitaker, Jai Leacock, and Shawn Douglas. They quickly made a name for themselves with their intense, aggressive sound infused with a message of forgiveness and faith. Over a decade, they released four key recordings: their mainly DIY debut *Lifeblood* (2001), followed by three albums on Facedown Records — *Dead End* (2003), *Brood of Vipers* (2005), and *The Undisputed Truth* (2007). Their music blends hardcore punk energy with metalcore heaviness, marked by fast rhythms and powerful lyrics that explore themes like restoration and purpose. Though they disbanded in 2008, they reunited for some shows starting in 2015, including performances at Facedown Fest and tours supporting bands like Gideon.

The band's final lineup featured vocalist Johnny Intravaia, guitarist Mike Whitaker, bassist Drew Russ, and drummer Shawn Douglas, with earlier contributions from Jai Leacock and others. They are recognized not just for their brutal yet thoughtful sound, but also for standing apart in a scene often driven by trends, creating music with real meaning and heart. Seventh Star remains a respected name in Christian hardcore for their commitment to both faith and fierce, compelling metalcore music.
