Cultivated Mind

Cultivated Mind is a reggae, dub, and jazz act formed by Italian American producer and multi-instrumentalist Anthony Brand in the Hampton Roads area of South Eastern Virginia. Since 2013, they have been producing a wide range of music, including multiple albums and EPs, with notable releases like *No Quarter for Thieves*, *King St. Dub*, and *Tend the Garden*. Their sound is characterized by socially conscious lyrics and infectious rhythms, blending influences from jazz, blues, NY hip hop, salsa, and classic dub reggae. Cultivated Mind's live performances often feature loop shows with a dynamic setup of instruments and collaborations with other musicians like TC Cline and Lucian Ford.

Cultivated Mind's performances not only feature original music but also include creative medleys of classic reggae, soul, and blues, along with live improvisations that blend flamenco and jazz elements. Their music has been well-received, earning them the 2016 VA Reggae Awards New Reggae Artist of the Year and a 2023 VEER Award for Best World Music. Over the years, they have shared stages with renowned artists such as Steel Pulse, The Wailers, and Beres Hammond, building a dedicated global fanbase through consistent touring and energetic live shows.
