Poco is an American country rock band formed following the demise of Buffalo Springfield in 1968. Comprising key members Richie Furay, Jim Messina (both former Buffalo Springfield members), Rusty Young, George Grantham, and Randy Meisner, Poco aimed to forge a new path in the burgeoning country rock landscape. Poco quickly distinguished themselves with their tight harmonies, exemplary musicianship, and innovative blend of rock, country, and folk elements, helping to pave the way for the genre that would later be commandeered by bands such as the Eagles.
Poco's dedication to their craft led to a string of well-received albums in the early 1970s, including "Pickin' Up the Pieces" and "From the Inside." Although commercial success proved more elusive initially, their influence was nonetheless substantial within the country rock genre. With a rotating lineup over the years, Poco continued to produce music and perform live, embodying the enduring spirit of the genre. The band eventually found chart success with songs like "Crazy Love," which became their signature hit. Through live recordings, re-releases, and continued tours, Poco maintained their place in the pantheon of country rock greats, demonstrating the timeless appeal of their unique sound to both long-time fans and new listeners alike.
