Quartetto Werther

Quartetto Werther is a highly regarded chamber music ensemble founded in Rome in 2016. The group's name pays tribute to Goethe and Brahms, reflecting their inspiration from the character of "young Werther" in Brahms' Third Piano Quartet. Quartetto Werther has established itself as one of the most promising ensembles on the national and international concert scene. They have won several prestigious awards, including the XXXIX Franco Abbiati Prize in 2020 and the Premio A. Burri in 2019. The ensemble has performed at numerous festivals and concert halls, including the Unione Musicale in Turin, the Bologna Festival, and the Accademia Filarmonica Romana in Rome. They have also been part of the "Le Dimore del Quartetto" circuit since 2018 and have been recognized for their outstanding chamber music skills by the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.

Quartetto Werther's repertoire includes works by renowned composers such as Mendelssohn, Brahms, and Fauré. Their recent releases include the album "Elective Affinities" (2025), featuring piano quartets by Mendelssohn and Brahms, and "Fauré: Piano Quartets, Op. 15 & Op. 45" (2021). The ensemble has perfected its skills under the guidance of notable musicians, including Trio di Parma and Pierpaolo Maurizzi. Their performances are characterized by a deep understanding of chamber music and a commitment to artistic excellence.
