Iping Amores is a Cebu-based singer-songwriter who first rose to prominence with the raw, energetic punk sound of his band, The Ambassadors, back in the 2000s—the group was especially known for their hit “Gugmang Giatay”. After that era, Amores shifted gears, evolving into a songwriter of more mellow and inspirational tunes, though he’s kept his heart close to the Bisrock (Bisaya rock) scene that inspired his early career.
These days, his solo work includes heartfelt singles like “Ginhawa, Delfin,” “The Unofficial Sugbo Song,” “Rosas Ang Kulay ng Bukas,” and his latest releases “Sugilanon Sa Gugma” and “Kapalaran,” which showcase his knack for blending Cebuano lyricism with contemporary pop-rock sensibilities. Signed to Viva Records, Amores is recognized for staying true to traditional recording methods and for being a voice that resonates with both longtime fans and new listeners drawn to his authentic sound.
