Ian Thompson

Ian Thompson is an English singer, songwriter, and musician originally from Liverpool, now based on the Isle of Man with his wife Deborah. Known for his engaging live performances, Ian plays most weekends around the island’s bars, venues, and private functions, often accompanied by The Ian Thompson Band. Over the years, he has enjoyed regular airplay on stations like BBC Radio Merseyside, BBC Radio Lancashire, and Manx Radio, as well as internationally in the USA, Australia, Italy, and Holland. His music has been supported by the Manx Arts Council, helping release albums such as "New World" and "Mean Time," and he has a music licensing deal with Spectra Music Group since 2017. One of his singles, "You’re My Liverpool," is a fan favorite regularly played at Liverpool FC home matches. Ian released his album "Strange Days" in January 2021 and continues to put out new music that’s available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and Bandcamp.

Ian’s style and songwriting have led him to share stages with well-known artists, including supporting British chart-toppers Scouting for Girls. He has worked with producers such as Simon Harvey, Phil Reynolds, and Gyp Buggane on the Isle of Man. Whether performing live or recording, Ian Thompson’s music combines a heartfelt, approachable sound with the energy of a seasoned performer, making him a beloved figure in his local music scene.
