Mora Vocis

Mora Vocis is a unique ensemble known for its focus on medieval music with a modern twist. Comprising female solo vocalists, the group has been dedicated to performing sacred repertoires from the Middle Ages for over two decades. Under the artistic direction of Els Janssens-Vanmunster and Caroline Marçot since 2011, Mora Vocis is celebrated for its innovative performances that often incorporate circus artists and dance choreographers. Their approach to music is deeply connected to the venues they perform in, using the architecture to enhance their performances. The ensemble has expanded its repertoire to include secular music and has collaborated with actors and instrumentalists in various shows.

Mora Vocis has released several albums, including recent works like "Il pleut des voix de femmes," "Lacaze: Je vois passer l'ange: I.," and "L'Amante, balade vocale dans un jardin de cantiques." Their performances are characterized by their ability to create a personalized poetic space, often staging concerts from memory and tailoring them to the specific location. This approach has set Mora Vocis apart in the field of early and contemporary music.
