**Three Seas** is this killer Bengali-Australian collective that fuses spiritual jazz, rock, reggae, and earthy West Bengal folk vibes, led by Aussie saxophonist and composer Matt Keegan. He headed to India in 2009 chasing fresh sounds, linking up with the crew in Santiniketan, West Bengal—frontman Raju Das Baul on soulful vocals and khamak rhythms from the nomadic Baul tradition, Darjeeling-born Deoashish Mothey (aka Deo Ashis Mothey) handling Himalayan-style vocals plus dotora, esraj, and guitar, and powerhouse drummer Gaurab "Gaboo" Chatterjee from Kolkata's rock scene with Lakkhichhara, laying down those traditional folk beats.
Their live shows feel like a trip to another world, blending ancient Baul songs with modern jazz twists, no sitars or tablas—just unique grooves from instruments like the dubki and khamak. They've dropped gems like the 2017 album *Haveli* (recorded in a Rajasthan palace), 2022's *Afterlife*, and their latest 2026 release *Antaḥkaraṇa* at Real World Studios, produced by Sarathy Korwar, with tracks like "Real World" and "Into the Night" channeling that hypnotic, cross-cultural magic.
