Into Another

Into Another emerged from the early 1990s New York City hardcore scene, bringing together an eclectic mixture of sounds that defied easy categorization. Formed in 1990 by vocalist Richie Birkenhead (formerly of Underdog and Youth of Today) and bassist Tony Bono, the band rounded out its lineup with drummer Drew Thomas and guitarist Peter Moses. They struck a chord within the alternative scene for their unique blend of hardcore punk, heavy metal, and progressive rock influences, punctuated by Birkenhead's distinct, emotive vocals.

Their self-titled debut, "Into Another," released in 1991, introduced audiences to their genre-blending style, immediately setting them apart from many of their peers. The group's intricacy and melodic progressions were further showcased in the 1992 follow-up, "Creepy Eepy," and the 1994 full-length, "Ignaurus," which received critical acclaim for its ambitious songwriting. The band's reputation for fusing spiritual and introspective lyrics with a dynamic auditory experience was solidified with the 1995 "Poison Fingers" EP. After a long hiatus, Into Another returned to the scene with "Omens" in 2015, reassuring fans that their innovative and genre-resistant artistry was still alive and well. Tragically, bassist Tony Bono passed away in 2002, but his legacy continues with the enduring appeal of Into Another's diverse discography.
