Taavi Oramo

Taavi Oramo is a Finnish conductor, singer, clarinettist, electronic musician, and producer, known for his versatile and open-minded approach to music. Born in 1990, he studied conducting with renowned teachers such as Jorma Panula, Atso Almila, and Hannu Lintu at the Sibelius Academy. Oramo is notable for his ability to combine multiple musical roles, seamlessly moving between conducting, singing (especially in contemporary and early music), and playing clarinet in various ensembles. He is also deeply involved in experimental and electroacoustic music, performing live electronics with the group Tölöläb and producing innovative multidisciplinary chamber music events through the Eloa Culture Company, which he helped found and lead.

Oramo’s conducting career includes engagements with leading Finnish orchestras like the Finnish Radio Symphony, Helsinki Philharmonic, and Tapiola Sinfonietta, as well as international appearances with ensembles such as the Hong Kong Philharmonic and Munich Chamber Orchestra. His programming often embraces a broad musical spectrum, from classical and baroque to contemporary and experimental works, reflecting his interest in crossing musical genres and integrating vocal and electronic elements. Beyond conducting, Oramo is also a tenor soloist who has performed with baroque and symphony orchestras. His diverse talents and forward-thinking programming have earned him a growing reputation in the international music scene.
