DJ Arafat, also known as Yôrôbô, was a hugely influential Ivorian DJ and singer who revolutionized Coupé-Décalé music. He wasn't just playing the hits; he *was* the hitmaker, constantly pushing the genre forward with his energetic vocals, innovative beats, and larger-than-life persona. Tracks like "Dosabado," "Kpangor," and "Jonathan" became anthems, and his music videos were always a spectacle.

Beyond the music, DJ Arafat was a cultural icon in Côte d'Ivoire and across Africa. He had a massive following, known as "Les Chinois" (The Chinese), and his influence extended far beyond the dance floor.
