Playya 1000, born Fred Frierson, is a renowned rapper from Tulsa, Oklahoma. He started his music career as part of the local hip-hop group DC Boys. Noticing his faster pace of producing tracks compared to the rest of the group, Playya 1000 soon launched a successful solo career, with over 30 solo songs. His early releases, such as 'Reality' and 'Blame it On Society?', gained significant attention despite limited radio support, paving the way for national distribution. His unique California/Midwest hybrid sound made him internationally known. One of his notable albums is 'Mo Drama', released in 1994, which includes the popular track 'Sunday Afternoon'. After a hiatus, Playya 1000 has continued to release music, often collaborating with other artists like Malachi Da Sauce God.

In recent years, Playya 1000 has been active, dropping tracks like 'Wiggle' and 'Build It Back', showcasing his enduring presence in the hip-hop scene. His contributions to Tulsa's hip-hop landscape have earned him and his collaborator, The Deeksta, the title of local legends. Despite his many accomplishments, Playya 1000 took a hiatus from music due to personal commitments, including gaining custody of his children.
