Nikola Urosevic Gedza

Nikola Urošević Gedža is a renowned Serbian folk singer born in 1947 in Valjevo, where he grew up in a poor working-class family. He initially trained as a metalworker and worked in that field for a time. However, his career took a turn when he was offered the opportunity to sing in a local establishment by the owner Pera Lažov. Soon after, he began performing in cafes across Šabac, Valjevo, and Lazarevac. Composer Budimir Jovanović Buca helped introduce him to PGP RTB, launching his professional music career. Gedža has a high regard for fellow singer Šaban Šaulić. Over the years, he has recorded about 120 songs, with some of his most famous titles including *Oj Srbijo lepotice*, *Hriste Bože*, *Povedi kolo Miloje*, and *Marširala kralja Petra garda*.

Among his notable releases are albums like *Slađana zbogom*, *Tambura*, *Povedi kolo Miloje*, *Oj Srbijo lepotice*, and others mentioned in your recent releases list, such as *Zbog nje* and *18 Najlepsih Srpskih Pesama*. His music often reflects themes of Serbian heritage and national pride, with songs that have become beloved by many in the Balkan region.
