John Greaves is a British bassist, composer, and singer-songwriter who's been pushing musical boundaries since the 1970s. Best known as a member of the avant-garde rock group Henry Cow, Greaves later co-founded the art-pop duo Kew. Rhone with Peter Blegvad and collaborated with artists like Michael Mantler and Robert Wyatt. His solo work blends jazz-inflected art rock with poetic lyricism, showcased in recent albums like "Earthly Powers" (2023) and "Timelines" (2021) that continue his exploration of genre-defying storytelling. A master of musical reinvention, Greaves has maintained his experimental edge through projects ranging from cabaret-inspired works ("Accident") to French poetry adaptations ("Les molécules fidèles"), proving he's still one of rock's most intriguing shape-shifters.
