Zen Baboon

Zen Baboon is a Portuguese electronic music duo composed of Daniel Rosado and Henrique Palhavã, both born in the 1970s. Daniel is a sound engineer who began producing electronic music in the late 1990s, while Henrique is a zoologist who started his career as an ambient DJ and producer in 2001. They formed Zen Baboon in 2003, blending their musical preferences to create a unique sound. Their music is characterized by its downtempo style, often incorporating natural sounds to create a calming atmosphere. Zen Baboon has performed at numerous festivals, including Boom Festival and Samsara Festival, and has released several notable albums and singles, such as "HIDDEN FROGS" and "O Dia (Lab's Cloud Remixes)".

Their creative process involves working separately, with occasional meetings to discuss and finalize tracks. They use digital tools, including Reaper software and Novation controllers, to craft their music. Live performances feature a dynamic setup with Traktor and Ableton, ensuring each show is distinct and engaging. Zen Baboon's music is praised for its emotional depth and originality, making them a standout in the electronic and downtempo genres.
