Cristian Măcelaru is a Romanian-American conductor who has gained international recognition for his dynamic and expressive performances. Born in Timișoara, Romania, he studied conducting at the Vienna Conservatory and the Juilliard School. Măcelaru has served as music director of the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and is currently the music director of the Orchestre National de France. He is known for his innovative programming and commitment to contemporary music, and has collaborated with leading orchestras and soloists around the world.
