Orcutt Shelley Miller

Orcutt Shelley Miller is an avant-rock trio made up of three well-known figures in experimental music: Bill Orcutt (formerly of Harry Pussy), Steve Shelley (longtime drummer for Sonic Youth), and Ethan Miller (of Howlin Rain and Comets on Fire). Together, they create music that pushes the boundaries of rock by blending elements of free jazz, psychedelic rock, and punk, channeling raw, improvised energy into their performances. Their sound features jagged, intense guitar work, dynamic drumming, and hypnotic basslines, producing an electrifying and unpredictable live experience.

The trio's debut self-titled album was released in September 2025 via Silver Current Records, featuring tracks like "Four-door Charger" and "A Star Is Born" that showcase their improvisational prowess and unique chemistry. With no fixed leader, their music evolves organically, reflecting a deep respect for the history of rock and guitar playing while exploring fresh, spontaneous musical conversations.
