Current Joys

Current Joys is the introspective and expressive musical project of multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Nick Rattigan. Over the years, Current Joys has evolved from its lo-fi bedroom pop beginnings to a more polished and expansive sound that experiments within the indie rock genre. Nick Rattigan hails from Nevada but has made ripples in the indie music scene far beyond his home state. The project has accumulated a dedicated fan base through its earnest and emotive songwriting, coupled with evocative storytelling—an attribute well displayed in the album "A Different Age" released in 2018, which notably showcased a reflective and deeply personal narrative style.

Current Joys' discography offers a rich exploration of themes such as love, existential angst, and the human condition, set against the backdrop of evolving soundscapes. In 2021, the project ventured into new territories with the album "Voyager," which mixed synth-driven tracks with Rattigan's signature raw guitar melodies and haunting vocals to critical acclaim. Beyond album releases, Current Joys has engaged fans through electric live performances, documented in works like "Live at Kilby Court" and "Current Joys on Audiotree Live." With each new release, from the reflective tunes of "A Different Age" to the cover tracks in "Covers From Across the Sea," Current Joys continues to garner attention while staying true to its emotionally resonant core. Whether through the energetic "Shake That Devil" or the introspective "My Nights Are More Beautiful Than Your Days," Rattigan's musical journey persistently captures the collective imagination of an ever-growing audience.
