Michael Leonhart is an American trumpeter, composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist recognized for his versatile contributions to jazz, pop, and classical music. Born on April 21, 1974, in New York City, he emerged from a family deeply rooted in music; his father is the renowned bassist Jay Leonhart. Michael showed prodigious talent early on, attending the Manhattan School of Music and making history by becoming the youngest Grammy Award recipient at age 17 as a featured soloist on the album “Miles Davis & Quincy Jones Live at Montreux.”
