SPANK HAPPY is a Japanese music group that has undergone several transformations since its formation in 1992. Initially, the group consisted of members like Haramidori (vocals), Keiichi Kuwada (saxophone), and Shin Kono (keyboards), focusing on pop music with a goal to chart on the hit lists. However, after Haramidori and Kono left, the group evolved into a duet team with Kuwada and new vocalist Hitomi Iwasawa in 1999. This second phase shifted towards club music and Shibuya-kei styles, releasing notable works like "インターナショナル・クライン・ブルー" and "ANGELIC." After Iwasawa's departure, the group continued with various guest vocalists until its disbandment in 2006.
In 2018, SPANK HAPPY was revived with Kuwada, now known as Boss the NK, and Od (Odaka Tomomi), marking a new era for the group. They have since released new music, including "夏の天才" and the album "mint exorcist," which was released under the name FINAL SPANK HAPPY. This latest iteration continues the group's eclectic approach to music, blending different styles and themes in their work.
