Eric Johanson

Eric Johanson is a blues rock musician, hailing from the rich musical landscapes of New Orleans, Louisiana. With guitar skills that are deeply rooted in the fertile grounds of blues, rock, and Americana, Johanson has carved out his own spot in the modern music scene. A former lead guitarist for Cyril Neville, he has honed his craft under the tutelage of some of the Crescent City's greats, which has heavily influenced his sound and playing style.

Following his acclaimed 2017 debut album "Burn It Down," produced by Tab Benoit and released on Whiskey Bayou Records, Johanson continued to make a name for himself with a series of releases showcasing his gritty vocals and compelling songwriting. His album "Below Sea Level," produced by Luther Dickinson, was released in 2020, capturing the ear of listeners with its authentic blend of swampy southern rock and blues. Eric Johanson's work, such as "The Deep And The Dirty," "Don't Hold Back," and live performances like "Eric Johanson - Jam in the Van (Live Session, New Orleans, LA 2022)," exhibits his ability to command a stage and captivate an audience. Whether he’s delivering raw, energetic originals or putting his unique spin on cover tracks, Johanson’s passion and authenticity shine through, positioning him as one of the compelling voices in the blues scene today.
