Mateusz Ryczek

Mateusz Ryczek is a Polish composer and pianist born in 1986 in Toruń. He studied composition at the Wrocław Academy of Music, graduating with honors in 2011, and later earned his Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in 2019. Ryczek’s music is known for its contemporary style, and his works have been performed widely across Europe, the USA, and Japan. He has released several albums dedicated to his compositions, including *PLANETONY* (2013) and *Cello Works* (2022), which showcase his innovative use of the cello in various roles, from solo pieces to concertos. He is a member of the Polish Composers’ Union and has received several awards and cultural scholarships for his contributions to music.

With a compositional voice shaped by studies under Grażyna Pstrokońska-Nawratil and others, Ryczek often blends acoustic and electronic elements, creating rich textures that reflect both tradition and experimentation. His recent works include pieces like *Symphony of Peace* for organ, *Miłota – Kashubian Cantata*, and *Dopamine*, a trumpet concerto, cementing his reputation as a versatile and dynamic contemporary composer.
