The Rezillos

The Rezillos are a Scottish punk rock/new wave band that emerged from the underground music scene of the 1970s in Edinburgh. The group gained recognition for their high-energy performances and a strong visual style that distinguished them from their contemporaries. The band's line-up, most notably consisting of vocalists Fay Fife and Eugene Reynolds, guitarist Jo Callis, and others over the years, created a unique sound that blended punk rock speed and attitude with pop melodies and a splash of science fiction imagery, giving them a distinct place in the post-punk landscape.

Their debut album, "Can't Stand The Rezillos: The [Almost] Complete Rezillos," released in 1978, quickly became a punk classic with its combination of sharp-witted lyrics and infectious hooks. Though the band originally split up in 1978, following their live release "Mission Accomplished... But the Beat Goes On," their legacy endured, punctuated by reunion gigs and additional releases. Some of their most notable works include the iconic single "Top of the Pops," which was a critical hit. After reuniting in the 21st century with a refreshed lineup, The Rezillos continued to excite fans both old and new with works like "Zero" and the energetic live recording "Top of the Pops - Live," ensuring their rebellious spirit lived on. Their commitment to punchy, retro-futuristic punk rock remains evident in their performances and releases to this day.
