Living Sacrifice

Living Sacrifice is a Christian metal band that was formed in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1989 by Darren Johnson, Bruce Fitzhugh, Lance Garvin, and Jason Truby. The band is known for being one of the early pioneers in the Christian metal scene, particularly with their influence on the development of Christian death metal and metalcore. Over time, their sound evolved to incorporate elements of thrash metal and groove metal, with lyrics that boldly express their Christian faith and confront personal and societal issues with an unflinching urgency.

Throughout their career, Living Sacrifice has undergone various lineup changes, with drummer Lance Garvin and vocalist/rhythm guitarist Bruce Fitzhugh being the two consistent members. They have released several albums, with "Reborn" (1997) marking a significant turning point where the band shifted from their death metal origins to a more thrash and groove-oriented sound. Albums such as "The Hammering Process" (2000) and "Conceived In Fire" (2002) continued this evolution and are celebrated for their technical playing and complex song structures. After a brief hiatus between 2003 and 2008, the band came back with "The Infinite Order" (2010), which was well-received and followed by a deluxe edition that featured additional tracks. Their most recent full-length album is "Ghost Thief" (2013), showcasing the band's relentless energy and commitment to their craft which has not waned over their decades-spanning career. Not content with halting their creative output, Living Sacrifice has maintained a strong presence in the metal scene, continuously influencing newer generations of metal bands both within and outside the Christian music circle.
