Lia Lungu

Lia Lungu is a renowned Romanian singer known for her interpretations of traditional folk music. Born on August 3, 1953, in Baru, Hunedoara, Romania, she has built a career that spans both domestic and international stages. As a professional artist, Lia Lungu has been a soloist with the Banatul Ensemble in Timișoara and a vocalist in the choir of the Timișoara National Opera. Her performances often highlight the sacred and ritualistic aspects of traditional Romanian culture. Additionally, she has been involved in humanitarian work, organizing concerts for orphaned children and those with leukemia, as well as supporting the Romanian-American community in the United States.

Lia Lungu's musical journey includes early recordings with Radio Timișoara and later with Radio București, collaborating with prominent orchestras.
