Heresy

Heresy, one of the pioneer bands in the UK hardcore punk scene, has left an indelible mark with their blistering tempos and socio-political lyricism. Formed in 1985 in Nottingham, England, the group became notorious for their relentless speed and aggressive energy, contributing significantly to the development of the hardcore punk and grindcore scenes. With their lineup consisting of musicians such as John March, Steve Charlesworth, Kalv Piper, and Mitch Dickinson, each member brought a raw, visceral intensity to their performances and recordings.

Heresy's music has been celebrated for its confrontational approach and DIY ethos, consistently amplifying the voices of discontentment in the face of societal and political challenges. Their discography is a testament to their staying power and influence, particularly highlighted by the 30th-anniversary edition of their seminal album "Face Up to It!" which came to embody the sound and fury of the late '80s punk scene. Alongside other notable releases like "The Earache Peel Sessions", which captured the band's live ferocity and "20 Reasons To End It All" as well as the archival collection "1985-1987", Heresy carved out a legacy that continues to inspire and resonate within the punk community today. Despite disbanding in 1989, the impact of their short but fervent career remains a blueprint for hardcore bands around the globe.
