John P. Lynch is a composer and conductor whose music has been performed by ensembles around the world. His works are known for their lyrical melodies, rich harmonies, and evocative orchestrations. Lynch has received numerous awards and honors for his compositions, including the prestigious Rome Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. He is currently Professor of Music at the University of Texas at Austin, where he teaches composition and conducts the University of Texas Wind Ensemble.
In addition to his work as a composer and conductor, Lynch is also an active advocate for music education. He has served as President of the Texas Music Educators Association and is a member of the National Band Association's Board of Directors. Lynch is passionate about sharing his love of music with students of all ages, and he frequently gives workshops and clinics on composition and conducting.
