Bob Brozman

Bob Brozman was an American guitarist and ethnomusicologist born on March 8, 1954, in Long Island, New York. He began playing the guitar at the age of six and developed a deep passion for music, particularly National resonator instruments from the 1920s and 1930s, as well as Weissenborn-style guitars. Brozman was a respected authority on historical Hawaiian music and published several articles and re-issue albums documenting early Hawaiian music. His musical style blended elements of blues, jazz, Gypsy swing, and other genres, showcasing his versatility as a musician.

Brozman's discography includes albums like *Blue Hula Stomp*, *Devil's Slide*, *Four Hands Sweet & Hot*, and *Tone Poems III*, reflecting his eclectic musical influences. He was also a member of R. Crumb & His Cheap Suit Serenaders from 1978 until his death in 2013. Brozman held an adjunct professor position at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, further highlighting his academic contributions to music studies. His legacy as a musician and ethnomusicologist continues to inspire those interested in diverse musical traditions.
