The band was originally founded by vocalist Theo Mindell and guitarist Mark Thomas Baker, who were later joined by bassist Keith Nickel and drummer Carter Kennedy. Orchid's momentum in the metal community has been growing ever since the release of their 2009 EP "Through the Devil's Doorway," a debut that showcased their knack for fusing melodic elements with the heavier aspects of doom metal.
