Rocío Márquez is a renowned flamenco singer from Huelva, Spain, born in 1985. She is celebrated as one of the leading figures in modern flamenco, known for her innovative approach and vocal excellence. Márquez's career spans over three decades, during which she has released several albums, including "Aquí y ahora" (2009), "Claridad" (2012), "El Niño" (2014), "Firmamento" (2017), and "Visto en El Jueves" (2019). Her collaborations extend beyond flamenco, working with artists like Jorge Drexler, Christina Rosenvinge, and Kiko Veneno, showcasing her ability to blend different musical styles. Márquez is also a Doctor cum laude from the University of Seville, where she completed her thesis on "Vocal Technique in Flamenco," and she teaches in the Interuniversity Master in Research and Analysis of Flamenco.
