Marijn Cinjee is a Dutch electronic musician, composer, and audiovisual artist born in 1995. He specializes in creating immersive and innovative sound experiences by blending organic sounds with electronic and mechanical source material. Cinjee's work often explores the boundary between the physical world and the mind, aiming to evoke emotional resonance through spatial audio and interactive composition. He has a strong background in composition for interactive installations, having studied at The University of the Arts Utrecht, and works as a spatial audio researcher and engineer, notably with the 4DSOUND system to create enveloping sound environments that transform listeners' perception of time and space.
Marijn has collaborated with English soprano Julia Sinclair since 2023, reimagining early music by Hildegard of Bingen through arrangements combining soprano voice and synthesizers. This collaboration premiered in immersive settings such as London and Amsterdam and culminated in the 2025 album release, presenting a unique fusion of medieval melodies with modern electronic soundscapes. His artistic vision is rooted in transporting audiences to new internal, imaginary spaces where recognizable sounds slowly morph into abstract sonic elements, fostering a deep emotional connection and altered perceptual experience.
