Meena Rana

Meena Rana is a celebrated Uttarakhandi singer who has made a significant impact on the folk music scene of northern India. Born on May 24, 1975, in Delhi, she's known for her melodious voice and extensive contributions to regional music, particularly in the Kumauni and Garhwali languages. Often referred to as the 'Lata Mangeshkar of Uttarakhand,' Rana's career kicked off with her debut in the 1992 Garhwali film "Nauni Pichhadi Nauni." Since then, she's released numerous albums and has recorded over 500 songs in various languages, including Hindi and Ladakhi.

Rana's talent has earned her several accolades, including multiple Young Uttarakhand Cine Awards for Best Female Singer. Her journey from performing at the Akashvani Club in Mussoorie as a teenager to becoming a revered artist is a testament to her enduring passion for music. Married to singer and music director Sanjay Kumola, Rana continues to be a prominent figure in Uttarakhandi music, captivating audiences with her soulful renditions of folk songs.
