Ettore Fioravanti

Ettore Fioravanti is a renowned Italian jazz drummer and percussionist, born in Rome on May 18, 1958. His musical journey began with influences from Lucio Battisti and progressive rock, later evolving into a deep appreciation for jazz, particularly through artists like Sonny Rollins and Max Roach. Fioravanti has collaborated with numerous prominent jazz musicians, including Massimo Urbani, Gianluigi Trovesi, and Paolo Fresu. He is a long-standing member of the Paolo Fresu Quintet, which has released over thirty albums and performed globally. Fioravanti has also led several of his own groups, such as "Belcanto" and "Opus Magnum," and has released several albums under his own name, including "Settecanzoni" and "Traditori." His work often combines traditional jazz with innovative compositional elements, showcasing his versatility and creativity.

Fioravanti's recent musical endeavors include the album "Attraverso ogni confine," released in 2022 with the group "Opus Magnum." Throughout his career, he has maintained a strong commitment to teaching, having worked with institutions like Siena Jazz and the Conservatorio "S.Cecilia" in Rome.
