Drofnosura

Drofnosura is a Canadian blackened sludge and atmospheric doom metal band formed in 2010 in Toronto, Ontario. Originally a studio project featuring W.L.F. (guitars, vocals, synthesizers) and D.A.S. (drums, percussion, vocals, synthesizers), the band explored long, atmospheric compositions on early EPs like *I* (2014) and *Avidyā* (2015). With the 2021 addition of M.A.D. (bass, vocals, synthesizers), Drofnosura expanded their sound, culminating in the 2019 full-length debut *Voidfever,* which artfully fused sludge metal’s heaviness with bleak, melancholic atmospheres and earned them a solid foothold in the Canadian underground metal scene.

Their 2025 album *Ritual of Split Tongues* marks a refined and intensified evolution, blending sludge, doom, black, and post-metal elements into a distinct, shape-shifting soundscape. Known for epic-length, immersive tracks that create a meditative and transcendent atmosphere, the band balances massive, weighty riffs with textural richness and emotional depth. Recognized for their artistic integrity, Drofnosura signed with Transcending Obscurity Records, positioning their uniquely Canadian sound on a global stage of extreme music.
