PALO!

PALO! is a Miami-based ensemble that cooks up a spicy fusion of Afro-Cuban traditions, funk, and modern grooves. Founded by producer and keyboardist Steve Roitstein, the band has been shaking up the Latin music scene since the early 2000s with their "Miami Funk" style—a vibrant mix of son, rumba, timba, and electric energy. Known for their explosive live shows, PALO! thrives onstage, as heard in recent fiery releases like *Palo, Pollo, Y Maíz (Live)* and *Yo Quiero Guarachar 2023 (Live)*, where hypnotic percussion, bold horns, and call-and-response vocals invite audiences to dance first and ask questions later.

Their music celebrates Cuban roots while playfully experimenting with genres, as seen in tracks like *Yo Soy Del Campo* (a nod to rural life) and *Maluco* (a funky, genre-blurring anthem). With lyrics often touching on culture, community, and everyday joy—plus titles like *Para Chuparse Los Dedos* ("finger-licking good")—PALO! serves up music that’s as nourishing as a home-cooked meal. Their live recordings, including 2023’s *La Bendición Para Cuba*, capture the band’s mission: keeping Cuban rhythms alive while feeding them through Miami’s eclectic sonic blender.
