Wake up, Iris !

Wake Up, Iris is a duo from Malang, Indonesia, formed in 2015. The group consists of Vania Marisca on viola and vocals, and Bie Paksi on kick drum, guitar, and vocals. Their music blends genres like folk rock, indie, pop, and chamber pop. Before forming Wake Up, Iris!, Bie Paksi was involved in various musical projects and ran a recording studio, while Vania Marisca was active in local art and cultural initiatives. The duo has performed at several notable festivals, including the Folk Music Festival and Soundrenaline, and has released music under the Minorcubes label. Their album "A U R E O L E" explores themes of macrocosmos and microcosmos, reflecting their unique musical identity.

Wake Up, Iris has also participated in international events like the SXSW Music Showcase and the Zandari Festa in Seoul. They have collaborated with other artists and have been part of various tours across Asia, showcasing their eclectic sound. Recently, they have been featured in events like the AXEAN Festival, further expanding their presence in Southeast Asia's music scene. With releases such as "Era," "Urania," and "Audeamus," Wake Up, Iris continues to evolve and captivate audiences with their distinctive blend of folk and indie elements.
