Mito Chamber Orchestra

The Mito Chamber Orchestra (MCO) was established in 1990 in Mito, Japan, as part of a cultural complex. It is known for being the exclusive in-house orchestra of Art Tower Mito (ATM). The orchestra is led by the renowned conductor Seiji Ozawa, who serves as its general director. The ensemble consists of 23 musicians, including both Japanese and international members, who come together from around the world to perform. The MCO is recognized for its diverse repertoire, including collaborations with notable pianists like Momo Kodama. Their performances often feature a blend of contemporary and classical works, such as those by Toshio Hosokawa and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
