Kotringo

Kotringo is a Japanese singer-songwriter, pianist, and composer known for her whimsical, jazz-inflected pop style and emotionally rich soundtracks. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, she got her start in the Japanese music scene under the mentorship of Ryuichi Sakamoto. Her music combines delicate piano arrangements, soft vocals, and electronic elements, creating a unique and atmospheric sound.

In addition to her solo work, Kotringo has gained acclaim for her prolific film and television scoring. She composed the evocative soundtrack for the critically acclaimed animated film “In This Corner of the World” (この世界の片隅に), which helped cement her reputation as a top-tier composer. Other highlights from her soundtrack work include scores for films like “The Travelling Cat Chronicles” and “White Lies, Yellow Lace.” Whether crafting introspective pop or cinematic soundscapes, Kotringo continues to captivate listeners with her distinctive and heartfelt style.
