Vanilla Fudge is an American rock band formed in 1967 in Long Island, New York. They are best known for their psychedelic and progressive rock sound, and for their cover versions of popular songs, such as "You Keep Me Hangin' On" by The Supremes and "Eleanor Rigby" by The Beatles. The band's original lineup consisted of Mark Stein (vocals, keyboards), Tim Bogert (bass, vocals), Carmine Appice (drums, vocals), and Vince Martell (guitar, vocals). Vanilla Fudge released their debut album, "Vanilla Fudge", in 1967, which was a commercial success, reaching number six on the Billboard 200 chart. The band continued to release successful albums throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s, including "The Beat Goes On" (1968), "Renaissance" (1969), and "Rock & Roll" (1970). Vanilla Fudge disbanded in 1973, but they have reunited several times since then, most recently in 2005.
