Gunta Gelgote

**Gunta Gelgotė** is a talented coloratura soprano based in Lithuania, where she's a regular guest at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. She's shone in roles from Onutė Narbutaitė's *Cornet*, Johann Strauss's *The Bat*, Leonard Bernstein's *Candide*, and Jacques Offenbach's *The Tales of Hoffmann*, bringing her bright voice to opera, operetta, and oratorio stages with over 55 credited performances.

She studied vocal arts at the Latvian Academy of Music and Lithuania's Academy of Music and Theatre, and now collaborates widely on adventurous projects—like premiering Gundega Šmite's electroacoustic *Four Electroacoustic Love Poems* at Latvia's Skaņu Mežs festival, plus earlier works like *Yellow Free* and *Tides* written just for her. Gelgotė has given first performances of Onutė Narbutaitė pieces such as *Centones meae urbi* (with Kaunas State Choir and Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra) and *Ecce Dominus* for soprano, saxophone, and organ, and she teams up with pianists like Aija Kuzmane for chamber music gigs.
